Home Colon Cleanse - January 3rd, 2011

As scary as it may sound, our colon can be a breeding ground for parasites and bacteria, and a junkyard full of toxic waste and poisonous buildup. The presence of these unwelcome visitors and pollutants cause digestive complications, decreased energy, poor metabolism, and worse. That’s why it becomes important to rid yourselves of these intruders. Many think the only way to do that, is to pay a colon irrigation specialist or get a prescription medicine to fight the battle for you. But the fact of the matter is you can cleanse your colon effectively and affordable with just a few ingredients you’d find around the house. We wanted to take a look at some popular home colon cleansers in a colon cleanse review.

Cayenne Pepper Cleanser
One of the most effective colon cleansers we’ve seen that you can make at home is made from cayenne peppers, lemon juice, and maple syrup. A single serving should look something like this:
• 10 oz. of filtered water
• 1/10 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper powder
• 2 Tablespoons of organic lemon Juice (can be self-squeezed)
• 2 Tablespoons of Organic grade B maple syrup (this isn’t the stuff you put on your waffles)
Together, these create a potent blend that rid the body of harmful toxins, compacted matter, and dangerous bacteria.

Psyllium and Bentonite Clay
Psyllium and bentonite are used in several store-bought laxatives and colon cleansers. But even though they come in several products, you can find them on their own in several health food stores. By combining 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay with 1 teaspoon of pysllium powder in a glass of water, you create a safe and effective colon cleanser in seconds. These two ingredients bind and catch the matter along the lining of your colon, dragging out the toxins and bacteria with it through the entire digestive tract.

Saltwater Cleanse
Another colon cleanser you can make at home is the Saltwater Cleanse. Mixing sea salt (un-iodized, unrefined, and not Epsom salt) with purified water acts as a natural laxative that can enable the body to expel waste and toxins more quickly. For the best results, mix about 1 teaspoon of sea salt with about 30 oz. of water. If you do decide to try this option, make sure you’re near a bathroom. This laxative works fast.
